LINWOOD TOWN BOARD.

An adjourned meeting of the Linwood Townßoaid was held on Friday at 7.30 p.m. Present — Commissioners Bergh (Chairman), Atkinson. W. Smith, Pentecost, Hardie, and Dombrain. The Chairman stated the receipts since last meeting were £177 7s 7d, credit cash balance £1U 6s Bd. Correspondence was read from— The Drainage Board in reply, stating that the outfall drain had been cleared out. Justice Department, stating that Linwood had been constituted a separate licensing district. Resolved—That the matter be held over for consideration at next meeting. A petition was received asking that a concrete channel may be laid on the north side of Hill View street. Resolved —To reply that the matter will have- consideration in its turn. Resolved — That proceedings be taken to sail a property for arrears of rates. Resoived —To inform the Heathcote Road Board that in default of a reply to its letter of December 3rd, this Board declines to renew the lease Of the pound, and will take the necessary steps to close it. After passing accounts, the Board sat as the Local Board of Health. Mr A. Roberts interviewed the Board re its refusal to grant him a permit to bury nightsoil in bis section in Nursery road. The Chairman informed him that the matter had received careful consideration. Resolved —That the permits granted to residents in Nursery road be reconsidered. The Inspector's report was read and adopted, ana the meeting terminated.
