THE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.

[Br Telsqr-ph.J

(WtOM A CORRESPONDENT.) AUCKLAND, February 5. There is every prospect of fine weather for the Championship meeting. The racing track is in beautiful order, and mnch faster than was anticipated some days ago. The Southern oyclists are very confident of securing all the championships. Wilmott should secure the one and five miles, and he and Steadman should have a great struggle in the ten and twenty-five miles, though the local people will hear of nobody but Buchanan for the twenty-five miles. Ledsham should run Wilmott close in the two mile handicap, and will probably win the three miles on Saturday.
