THE MASCOTTE.

The new yacht Mascotte, which performed so well at the Wellington Regatta, arrived in port at 11 a. in. yesterday. She lay ac anchor until 9.40 &._. on the 3rd,when the wind came away from the N.W. Cape Campbell was passed at 2.30 p.m. that day, a beavy N.W. gale blowing at the tluie. Waipapa Point was passed at 7.30 p.m., when the wind veered to the N.E., accompanied with a N.E. sea. She was off Kaikoora at midnight, when the wind veered to the N.W. again aud blew very strong. At 1 B.m. she was past the Kaikoura peninsula, and at4.lsp.m. of that day was off the Sail rock, and arrived in Lyttelton as Stated above. The crew on the passage down were — Messrs James And Job a Sinclair, Geo. Pope, A. .Aw„ *V: Bacfcley. and F. Green. They all speak in the highest terms ofthe sea-going qualities of the little vessel.
