DXJNEDIN, February 4. .; In the Supreme Court to-day an appeal case of some importance came before Mr Justice Williams. Bobert Nicholson, a travelling draper, was fined by the Resident Magistrate at Cromwell, for carrying on the btunneas of ft hawker without a license, contrary to the by-lawa of the borough. The appellant admitted taking orders for goods, and delivering these after, but was careful to sell only by sample. As the case was of considerable importance, the Judge took time to consider.

INVEBCABGILL, February 4. A barn belonging to W. D. Soper, Garston, was burnt last night. About JE4O worth of uninsured plant was in the place. The barn itself was insured for £100 in the South British office.
