The following is tbe gun practice made by the N Battery of N.Z. Volunteer Regiment of Artillery on Tuesday :— Ist shot. Sergeant Ot. Porteous, 3220 yds, plugged shell, 5& right, _ The firing took place from the 64yds No. 2 Battery, North Shore, Lyttelton. The target was a splendid one, and drifting. Praise is due to Quartermaster-Sergeant Gilmore for his excellent design of the target. Tha firing was conducted under the special supervision ol Sergeant-Major Wardell and the officers of the Battery.
