WEDDING AT FLAXTON.

{fßOit on* co_umsfokd«ht._ Oa Anniversary Day a ceremony of aa Interesting character waa held In St. Paul's Church, Flax&m, the occasion being the marriage of Mr Wm. D. Bean, master of Southbrook school, and well known in football circles, to Miss Thirza, third daughter of Mr Edward Mulcock, of PeverH Place, Flaxton. A lengthy pro. cession of carriages aud other vehicle* left the bride's house for the church, a distance ot a mile, arriving there, after a pleasant drive, about 2 p,in. Tha neat country church was soon more than comfortably filled by a fashionable congregation. The bride's arrival was the signal for a general buzz of excite, ment. She was attired in a rich figured white silk dress, with veil, and carried a beautiful bouquet of orchids and ferns. The bridesmaids, eight in Misses Rebecca Mulcock, Annie Bean, Alice, Jane. Amy, Louisa, aud Edith Mulcock, and Eva Taompsoa, four of whom wore pink, two blue, and two cream dresses, with cream and pink and cream hats, the bouquets being nut up to correspond m good taste with the coloring of the dresses. The interior of the church bad been tastefully decorated by several of the parishioners, the greenery of the ornamentation being relieved with lilies. geraniums. Sec Mr Bean was attended y Mr C. Garrard as groomsman, and the bride was given away by her father. Tha Rev. F. H. Inwood, assisted by the Bey. W. Cruden, carried out the marriage ritual, on the termination ot which the party returned to PeverlL Over a hundred guests eat down to the breakfast, which was of an elegant and elaborate description, and served in a marquee on the lawn. Among those who sat down were Mr and Mrs J. S. White, Mr and Mrs E. Parnham, Mr and Mrs W. Sansom, Mr and Mrs Threlkeld, Mr and Mrs A. B. Blackett, Mr J. Sab., som, Mr and Mrs Blackwell, Mr and Mrs W. Yaugban, Mr and Mrs Wi Thompson, Mr C. Thompson, Mr and Mrs Isaao Wilson, Mr and Mrs J. Miles Verrall, Mr and Mrs R. W. Chapman. Mr and Mrs J. Johnston, Mr and Mrs Leithhead, Yea, Archdeacon and Mrs Dudley, Mr and Mrs G. F. Smith, the Misses Threlkeld, Mr F, Weston and Miss Weston, Mr and Mrs L. Hunnibell, Mr W. Parnham, Miss John, ston, Miss Barker, Mr and Mrs R. M, Wright, Mr and Mrs F. W, Cumberworth-, &c. In an appropriate speech the Rev. F, R. Inwood alluded to the long connection ot the bride's family with the parish of Flaxton and her interest in the affairs of the church and Sunday school, as well as to the brldeeroom's progress iv the scholastic profession, likewise his enthusiasm in manly sports. Both were admirably adapted to fulfil the duties of life, and he concluded by. wishing them every blessing, health, happiness, and long life. The bridegroom, in a few well chosen words, responded, thanking the company for the cordiality of feeling evinced towards himself and the bride. It was not only a source of satisfaction to bear, kind expressions made use of, but to knbw that they were thoroughly sincere and came from a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances. He gave the toast of " The Bridesmaids," for whom Mr J. Sansom replied in a neat speech. To the subsequent toast of "The Bachelors,** Mr F. Weston responded. The health of Mr Mulcock was drunk in a bumper with three times tbroe, and tbat gentleman expressed the great pleasureJfc gave him to see so large an assemblage of friends present. ThaKaiapol brass band provided the music. The presents to Mr and Mrs Bean were both very numerous, varied, and. bandsome, including a candelabra given to the bride by the parishioners of FlaxtohAbout 4 p.m. tbe happy pair drove away for their honeymoon, being freely showered with rice.
