Replying to questions in the House of Commons, Sir James Ferguson states that the authorities at Lisbon had received no intimation of the proposed expedition against Mpondo in Shire , district, but that if it were ascertained that suoh attack was contemplated immediate orders would be issued directing the expedition to be abandoned.

The Delagoa Railway dispute is still unsettled.
