Messrs Benx and Co. report a good attendance at their stock sales at Amberley ontbe sth and 11th April;, 26,p00 sheep were yaraed and sold asurider:;-'----2600 merino ewes, from Cheviot hills/at 2s 9d to 2s lid; 1100 merino ewes, from Greta Peaks, 2i sd; 455 merino wethers, on account of H. F. Recce, Esq., at 6s Ud; BLO merino ewes, on account of same owner, at ss; 4850 merino ewes, from fit. Helens,, went in one line at 2a Ud, at which price they were a cheap barealn to the purchaser, being a grand line of -feeding ewes, wbrth fully 4a had they, arrived a month earlier In the market; 1100 merino ewes, from the Lakes station, made from 3s 2d to 3s 4d; memo wethers from the same station made '3s 9d *to ss' 3d; other lines of merinos made fully up to late market rates. Crossbreds sold well at rather enhanced values, a general clearance being effected at prices satisfactory to vendors. Cattle met with a very slack demand, except for springers close to calving, for which class there Is a strong demand.
