KAIAPOI SAILING CLUB.
The third competition for the Captain* prize took place on Saturday, and was won by the Lotus, White Arrow second. Hero third, and Sarah Ann fourth. The wind was light, but the race was a very interesting one, and the boato were pretty well handicapped together.

WELLINGTON, November 28. :
A largely-attended public meeting, convenedbythe Commodore of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club, was held last ni?ht, for tae purpose of discussing the question of taking steps to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of the colony. Several prominent citizens addressed the meeting, and it was decided that the celebration should take the form of » Regatta, on the 22nd of January, 1890. A strong Committee was elected to earrj out the arrangements.
