The Ist battalion of the Black Watch and the 2nd battalion of the Essex Regiment, both of which are stationed at Malta, will probably be ordered to proceed to Egypt to reinforce the positions threatened by the dervishes. Received July llth. LSO a.m. Cairo, July 10. The Welsh Regiment and one squadron of the 20th Hussars have started for Assouan.
