CHARGE OF EMBEZZLEMENT.
[PRESS association telegram.] THAMES, July 6. Last evening Mr F. Dean, who has occupied the position of Town Clerk from the time of the incorporation of the Borough Council, was arrested on four charges of embezzling moneys, which amounted in the aggregate to £35, belonging to the borough of Thames. He was brought up before the Resident Magistrate to-day, and remanded until Monday, the 15th inst. Bail was allowed—himself in £200, and two two sureties of £100 each.
