Thirty thousand weavers, engaged in the wool manufacture in Moravia, a province of Austria (Hungary), have gone out on strike, demanding an increase of wages. Received July 7th, 10.40 a.m. SIR H. ROBINSON. London, July 5. The St. James Gazette states that Sir Hercules Robinson will contest a seat at the general election in the Home Rule interest against Mr Geo. Wyndham, one of the private secretaries to the Right Hon A. J. Balfour. Received July 7th, 10.40 a.m. SENTENCE CONFIRMED. London, July 5. The sentence of three months' imprisonment passed on Mr Chas. A. Conybeare, M.P. for Gaimborne, Cornwall, for aiding and abetting the Plan of Campaign, has been confirmed on appeal. Received July Bth, L2O a.m. ELECTION. London, July 6. The Hon. Robert Bruce, M.P. for Fifeshire West, having resigned his seat in the House of Commons, Mr Birrell, a Home Rule candidate, has been elected by a majority of 800 over the Conservative candidate MrWemyss. [.At the last general election Mr Bruce, the Gladstonian candidate, was returned unopposed. The election, therefore, has left the relative position of parties unaltered.] INVESTMENTS IN COLONIAL SECURITIES. The report that M. Guesney de Beaurepaire, the public prosecutor, had resigned owing to his refusal to prosecute General Boulanger, is denied. : •
