[PBBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.] AUCKLAND, March 6. The tender of G. Niceol, of Devonport, a little under £500, virtually for labor only, has been accepted for repairs to H.M.S. Dart. A farmer, named Mills, residing at Opotiki, whilst being served with a summons for assaulting the Sheep Inspector, attacked Constables Cavaaagh and Sisam with an axe, but did not inflict any injury. He was arrested and sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labor. A young man, named John Pennell, son of a well known settler, died yesterday, at Ohinemutu, from the effects of a fall from hie horse. A meeting of those interested in the Exhibition was held to-day, when Mr Hastings, Secretary to the Com miss-on, was present, and gave a good deal of information. A Committee was Appointed who will take an active interest in assisting in making the Exhibition successful so far as this district is concerned. The crops in this district have been gathered in splendid condition. The yield of cereals will be good, but owing to the dry weather potatoes are not expected to yield heavily. DUNEDIN, March 6. The expenditure on outdoor relief by the Benevolent Trustees is estimated at £SO7 more than last year, the total being .£11,057. Messrs McKenzie and Clark were reelected to the Education Board, but it is a tie for third place between Mr Dick and Dr. Stenhouse; but it is thought, that the former will be elected by the Board. Joseph Henry Bentley, who was arrested at the Bluff, on the Ist of March, charged with larceny as a bailee, was brought up in the Police Court to-day and remanded to Wellington.
