SOUTHLAND FROZEN MEAT COMPANY.

[press association telegram.] INVEBCARGILL, January 23. The annual meeting of tihe Southland Frozen Meat Company was held to-day. The Directors' report and balance-sheet were adopted. The year's ■ transactions were the moat satisfactory the Company has had during seven years of existence. There is a credit balance of over £20W. This, as suggested by the Directors, was earned forward, and no dividend was declared. Some shareholders argued that a dividend should be paid, but the matter was not pressed. The Chairman, Mr J. TurnbuU, explained that the proposed guarantee of sheep had fallen through, because Tyser and Co. said that they found they could not carry meat for Id per lb, as they had proposed to do if a guarantee were given.
