The total births in the above borooghs amounted to 429, «ga.in«t 483 in NovemSer. The deaths in December were 148, a decrease of Iβ on the number in November. Of the total deaths males contributed 79, and females 67. Thirty-four of the deaths were of children under five years of axe, being 23*25 per cent, of the whole number; 27 of these were under one year of age.
