PEDESTRIANISM.

JOE SCOTT AT THE BISK.

Scott met his three opponents again last night at the Kink, and commenced with McCourt, who was never allowed to gain, and when he retired the Combinaiiation was still ouly 1 mile 6 laps ahead. The time for each mile was fairly good. Muhliesen improved it a little when his turn came, but he proved no match for the visitor, who comfortably reduced the difference by a lap, at which it stood. Upon Bowen appearing he made the pace very fast, and not only did he regain the lap Muhliesen had lost but added four more. He travelled exceedingly well throughout his hour, and one of his miles took the remarkably short time of 7min. 21sec which in the opinion of one competent to judge, was too fast for straight ou t walking. Bowen's efforts were loudly applauded, and at times Scott shared in the applause for his splendid spurts. Bowen was, however, a oit too good for him, and topped the individual record. He did 7 miles 2 laps, Muhlieson 6 miles 5 laps, and McCourc 6 miles 6 laps, or a total of 20 miles for the evening. Scott has now done 76 miles 11 laps, and the combination 78 miles 8 laps, leaving a credit to the latter of 1 mile 10 laps. The odd eight laps of the evening were accomplished in oruin 25sec Appended is the time for each mile:— m. sec, m. see. 59th mile . 8 16 69th mile .. 10 2 Kith „ 8 42 7UUI „ .. 9 12 61st ~ 915 71et „ .. 068 fcind „ .. 10 0 72nd „- .. 8 65 63rd „ .. 9 33 73rd „ .. 8 44 64th ~ ..10 3 74th „ ..8 8 fijta „ .. 832 75tn „ .. 818 G6tb „ 8 35 "titn ~ ..8 5 67ih „ 847 77th „ .. 721 6Slh „ 9 t& 78th ~ ..9 9
