The Ruapehu, this voyage takes a large and valuable cargo consisting of meat? wool, tallow, cheese, &c besides sornT thirteen boxes of gold, valued at £15,724. In the matter of passengers she Ufairly well patronised, each class having a good number. Those passengers who had not embarked before the vessel left the wharf were conveyed in the steam laanch, or at least all save two. who missed their passage. The harbor officials went to some trouble, and had signals hoisted at the signal staff and at Lyttelton but as the vessel was under steam those on board failed to observe toe signals, and consequently two of her intended passengers were left ashore, particulars of her mail will be found elsewhere.
