MELBOURNE, January 17.
The Intercolonial Medical Congress of Australia which has been in session daring the past week in Melbourne, has now brought its labors to a conclusion. An enormous amount of work has been got through, and until the publication of the official report the members themselves will not have an acquaintance with all the papers which have been read, the Congress having been divided in sections. Several subjects of direct interest to the general publio were considered, notably those of phthisis, typhoid fever, aad hydatids, ana it transpired that, taken on the whole, the conditions of life in , Tasmania and New Zealand were the most healthy. The undue prevalence of typhoid and hydatids in Melbourne was remarked upon, and it is likely that a result of the Congress will be to stir up public feeling in favor of improving the sanitary condition of the city. The members of the Congress have been feted to their hearts' content, having been most hospitably entertained in some way ox another every day in the week.
