Publications. THE WEEKLY PRESSCHRISTMAS NUMBER. In answer to numerous enquiries, the Proprietors of the " Wekkly Press" have to announce that they will follow in theln. Christmas Number the plan of that issued last year, only making such alterations in the conditions as will carry ouc the wishes of many of those interested, and thus add to the already great popularity given by the Annual PRIZE STOBY COMPETITION. THEY OFFER FOUR PRIZES FOB ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS STORIES, As follows :— £ b. d. For each of the four best ... 1 1 0 EXTRA PRIZES. The following Additional Prizes will be given :— £ s. d. First Prize 2 2 0 Second Prize 1 10 The task of selecting the Two Stories to receive these prizes will be left to our readers, and in each copy of the Christina* Number a Coupon will be inserted, whereon the names of the two stories pro. lerred may be written, and which may then be cut out end sent to the " Weekly Press "office. A FURTHER EXTRA PRIZE OF ONB GUINEA Will be given to the sender of the coupon on which the stories are placed in the order finally settled by the majority of votes. If nobody succeeds in placing the successful stories exactly, the prize will be awarded to the one who goes nearest. The Stories should not exceed in length Five Columns of the Weekly Press, and any excess, though not disqualifying the Story, will be considered a defect They must be written on only one side of the paper, and legibly. Each one must bear a norn de plume, be . marked on the outside "Prize Story Comps tltion," and be accompanied by a sealed envelope containing the name and address Of the author, and marked also with the norn deplume. In cases where it is desired that the manuscript shall be returned if rejected the requisite postage stomps should be enclosed. Each Story most be original, and aaso dated to some extent with Christmas. The scene may be laid wherever the author pleases. STORIES MUST~~BE POSTED BY DECEMBER 10th/ Intendine competitors are particularly requested to attend to the above conditions.
