[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received November Ist. 12.15 p.m. MELBOURNE, November L Bravo- Whakawat, and Mentor are now each quoted at 8 to 1 for the Cup. Carbine has again advanced to first position for the Derby, 2 to 1 being the best offer obtained. Melos is quoted at 3to 1. This morning Mentor and Enfilade did a mileand a half on the tan in 2min 52sec. Neither of them went particularly well. Australian Peer went once round the sand track in 2min 32Jsec. The Theorist and Touchstone covered a mile and a half in 2min 52Asec. Carlyon and Abercorn did a mile in co.np&ny, their time being taken as lmin SOsec. Beryl and Firelock went round the sand track in 2min 37sec. Aldivalloch did a wretched gallop. Necklet and Poet put in a rattling five-furlongs spin on the sand in lmin o^sec. * Received November let. 9.50 p.m. MELBOURNE, November 1. In consequence of a great trial between Carbine-aud Malua at CaulfiVld to-day, the former has hardened in the Darby betting, and 7 to 4 has been taken about his chance. There is no change in the Cup betting, and every thing is very quiet to-night.
