The Government of Tasmania state, that they consider it undesirable that Great Britain should be relieved of her obligations in the m—iter, and a.d—ise tbat a. further appeal should be made to the Imperial Government to facilitate the survey and bear a portion of the cost. The Government of Western Australia state that they will be guided by the action taken by other colonies, and will await the receipt of their replies on the Bubject before committing themselves to a decision. The Government of South Australia have replied that they cannot contribute to the cost of the survey.
