THE KATE TATHAM.
-» [PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] WELLINGTON, August 30. An attempt was made at high tide last night to float the barque Kate Tatham, stranded near the Wairau bar. but owing to an accident to the pulsometer pump the operations had to be abandoned. The bulk heads were opened to allow the water to flow into the fore and sit compartments, so as to steady the vessel, and when the repairs to the pump are effected, another attempt will be made. It is believed the vessel will be floated.
