ILLICIT DISTILLATION.
[PEESS ASSOCIATION TELKGBAM.I TIMAEU. August 30. A man named (XConnell, a resident of Albury, was arrested to day for illicit distillation. "When arrested (yConnell rushed out over a bank near the house, and was seen to throw something into the creek. Shortly afterwards O'ConnelTs premises were searched. In the creek the police found a demijohn containing manufactured, spirits, and some ba.s containing malt, In a shed they found a quantity o f spirits in. process of distillation, and. a thermometer such as is used by distillers. In the house were found a hydrometer for testing the strength of the spirits, together with otter articles -which convinced the police that the manufacture of spirits had been carried on. O'Connell will be brought up at the K.M. Court to-morrow morning.
