THE AUSTRALIANS IN ENGLAND. [By Electbio Telegraph— Copyrisht.] [per peess association.] Received. August 30th, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, August 29. Play was resumed to-day in the match Past and Present Oxford and. Cambridge against the Australian Eleven. The latter continued their innings which was stopped by the rain yesterday. At the luncheon adjournment they had added 79 to the previous day's score. Up to this stage the Australians have lost seven wicket* for 202. Received August 30th, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, August 28. In the match against the Past and Present of Oxford and Cambridge Universities the Australian Eleven in their first innings made 298. The highest scorers were Bannerman 76 and Turner 60. At the dose of the day's play the Universities had lost five wickets for 54 runs. Turner took three wickets for 14 aad Ferris one for 38.
