A message was received from the House of Representatives intimating *»•*-*H? amendments made in the Native Land Bill and Maori Seal Estate Manageinimt BiU by Council had been agreed to. NHW PLYMOUTH BOSPITAL. Mr Richmond moved the second reading of the New Plymouth Hoepital Bill. Mr Ebtnolds moved an amendment that the Bill be read this day three months, which was agreed to on the voices. CHINBBS BILL. Mr Watxbbousb brought up the report of the Conference of Managers on. the Caineae Immigration Bill m follower— That clause 2, as inserted by the Legie* lative Council, be struck oat, and the* the following words be inserted in lieu thereof—"The term Chinese in the said Act, and in this Act, does not include Chinese naturalised in New Zealand, aad further that the original clauses 10,15, and 12, telative to the prevention oS Chinese voting, and the sohedulo, be struok out, as proposed by the Legislative Counoil. \ v Mr McLhan considered there was no uecessity for the Bill, as there was not the slightest fear of an influx of Chinese to New Zealand. He thought the Imperial Government was quite enough hampered over this question without having additional trouble, Mr Buckley thought there was more in the Bill than appeared on the surface, aiicl he hoped the whole question would be thoroughly discussed. The report of the Conference was then agreed to without further discussion. NATIVE BILLS. A message waa received from the Hoses of Representatives disagreeing to the amendment* made by the Council in the Native Land Court Act Amendment BUI and Native Land Frauds Prevention BiU. On the motion of the Attounit-Ghnbba.l, it was agreed to disouss the Billa tomorrow. : ANOTHER LOCAL BILL THBOWN OUT. Mr DiaNAN moved the second reading of the Epsom and Mount Eden Recreation Ground and Gravel Pit Reserve Bill. Mr Watkbhousb moved an amendment, that the Bill bo read a second time that day three months. The amendment was carried on a division by 17 to 5, and the BiU was thrown out. The Council adjourned at 1. The Council resumed at 2.30 pan. FIRST RHADINaS. The following Bills were read a flxst time :—Gisborne Harbor Aot Amendment, Naval and Military Volunteers Land Claims and Settlement, and fioad Boards Act Amendment Bill. BILLS PASSED. The following Bille were committed, read a third time and passed :-~Whangarei Drillehed, Wellington Corporation ana College Land Exchange, Nelson Hospital and Asylum Reserve Bills. The Counoil rose at 3.45 tIU 11 tomorrow.
