The Taupo haa sailed for Newcastle en route for the New Hebrides, thus establishing direct communication with Australia. COAL DISCOVERY. Hobart, November 5. News has been received from Fingal stating that coal of an excellent quality has been fouud in that district suitable for steam and gas purposes. POLITICS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, November 5. The Premier expects to pass the Railway and Land Bills before the close of the present session, which is likely to be about Christmas. The Financial Statement will be delivered towards the end of the present month, when the property tax will be introduced.
