: The ■ usual monthly meeting of the Board ni held on Monday, the Bth of Februarj, 1886. Preeent—The Chairman, and Messrs Tallot and MbLachlin. CorEeepondenoe wasread—From Messrs Atkinson, Cottle, and Thoe. Conway, Jan., agreeing to the road at the back of the hill being dosed. From Mr H. Livingstone, objecting to the road being closed, «a he wanted to get to his farm. Consideration deferred, aa no aniwer : had been received from Mrs Mcllraith. Frjm the Sailway Leagne, asking the Board to nominate a member for the Committee of the League. It was decided that it was outside the business of the Board. From the Colonial Secretary, enclosing copy of petition from MrW. H. Beere, praying the Governor to take action, under th? provisione of the Boad Board Act, to compel the Board to call a meeting of ratepayers to consider Boad Board matters, aa requested, and asking the Board to furnish reasons why thvy refused to call the meeting. It was decided that the reasons be forwarded to the Colonial Secretary. From the Minister of Public Works, acknowledging receipt of the Board's letter applying for a grant in aid of Tnnfriflg either a new road or drain from the Cemetery to Bennetts, and saying that an Engineer would be sent to report as to the best manner of dealing with the drainage from Bennetts. From the Agent, Union Bank of Australia, Bangiora, saying that the sum of £275 17s 10d had been received from the Paymaster-General and placed to the credit of the Board's account, being 60 per oent. of the subsidy on the rate for 1886-6. From Mr G. Osborne, applying for refund of proceeds of sale of horse out of the pound. The amount to be paid. From MrW.Eßeere,asking for refund of rates over-charged on Education Heserve Ho. 712. Mr Beere to be informed that he can deduct the amount from his present rate. It was decided to give notfee that all rates not paid before the Bth of March be sued for. Accounts amounting to £891 lie lid were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
