RICCARTON.
The ordinary meeting of this Board was held on Monday; present, Messrs Hall (Chairman), Nunweek, and Stanley. The following correspondence wae read[: — From Mr Sail, requesting permisaion to take a few loads of gravel from the river bed reserve. The Board granted the request. From the Selwya Connty Council, stating that the sum of £350 had been voted for the maintenance of the main roads of the district, and enclosing a cheque for the amount. From the Clerk to the Selwyn County Council, requesting to be furnished with information as to the Sparrow Clubs existing in the district, the 1 number of birds and egga destroyed, and the price paid for the same ; also, requesting to be furnished with the Board's claim for birds paid for under the authority of the Council's circular of July Ist. sThe Clerk was directed to furnish the necessary information. The Board took into consideration the Surveyor's report on the works necessary to be carried out after harvest and before winter, and it was resolved to invite tenders for the following, returnable on the 9th March, viz :—Forming Graham's road; gravelling Riccarton Station road, HDlmorton road, Craddocf s road, Toom's road, Gardener's road, Gardener's Junotion road, Crewe Township streets, and Mayfair (Newmarket township) . The Surveyor's report on the works in progress, &c, was read and approved, and, after paseing accounts, the Board adjourned.
