Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations): — c FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1. Nor Northern Ports, per Manapouri, at 12.30 pjn.; late fee letters. 12.45 p.m.; guard s van, 1.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, DECEMBEE 2. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Cape of Good Hope, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Hawea, as follows: —Ordinary letters at 6.30 pan.; late fee letters, 7p.m. ; books and newspapers, 6.30 pan.; money orders,' 3 pan.; registered correspondence, 5 pan.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train.' Th s mail will be due in London on January the 15th. Note—Mails for TaiTapuand HalsweE will in future close daily at 6 a.m. ' On Monday, 4th December, a Telegraph, Money-order, and Savings-bank office, will be opened at Papanui Bailway Station,, and a free delivery by letter carrier begun there.
