DUNEDIN, February" 20.

The whole course was thrown open to trainers this morning, and advantage was taken to give several of the horses engaged at the meeting trying gallops. Clarence and several other jumpers were out early and did strong work. Nautilus went two miles at top speed, moving very nicely. E'*ng Quail and Adamant covered the Cup distance in company, racing the whole distance, two miles of which were oovered in Sarin. 47seo. This was a really good gallop, and there waa not a pin to choose between the pair at the finish. Luna went two rounds pretty fast, and Butler subsequently sent The Agent a similar distance. The two-year-old Te Ata finished the last three-quarters of a mile with him. Libeller did a fine gallop over the Cup distance, Armourer accompanying him for the first portion of tbe journey, and Turquoise for the last. The Cop horse accomplished the whole distance in 4-nin. 6.e0. Billingsgate only cantered. Outte stripped Chancellor, Mataku and the Dauphin, and sent them a dingdong gallop over the Cup ground, finishing np at raoing speed. It is impossible to say what weights were up, but The Dauphin appeared to oarry the most. He tailed off at the finish, while Mataku had a bit the best of Chancellor, who did not. move very kindly. Dsrrett turned up with the Champagne colt. Vanguard, the property of Messrs Lance and Robinson. The colt did only light work. The only one of Mr G. McLean's team that worked was Gitana, who went a mile and a quarter fast. Fuller sent Nonsense and Sieata away together, the pair cantering for half a mile, and then going the Champagne distance faat. Siesta was in front at tbe finish, but the ohesnut filly had been pulling bard all the way. Nonpareil and Holdernesse meantime oovered two miles fast.
