The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the week ending Bth December, as fellows :—Wool—The tone of the market has continued very firm since the auction sales of le.st week, and several private sales have transpired at rates fully sustaining those obtained at auction. Latest cable advices from London report a slightly J weaker market, but from Melbourne the news is most encouraging. During the month ending 22nd November 43,0(10 bales have been sold in that market at very satisfactory rates, especially for light-con-ditioaed crossbred, for which competition'had been keen amongst American buyers at prices ranging up to Sheepskins—There was a good attendance of the trade at our Thursday's sales, and fair prices were obtained for all lots offered. Butchers' crossbreds (large) realized 6» Id to 6s 10d; second quality, 4s 6d to 5s 10d ; merino (large), 5s 8d to 6s sd; second quality, 4s 61 to 5s 9d ; country crossbreds made 2s 3d to 3.) 4d, 3s 3d to 4a 6d, 4b 6d to 6a 9d. Pelts, good, Is 4d to Is 6d; second quality, Is to Is <td; inferior, 8d to lid. Lambskins, Is, Is 'Id and Is 6d. Hides —Prices continue to rule a shade lower than a few months back, but the market is steady at 4d, which was obtained for a line of good heavies. Tallow—We had Bono in catalogue, bnt prices obtained outside wen] ljd to 2£d, according to quality. For rop;rh fat 2£d and 2£d was realized for all Bubmitlied.
