Mr Ellmers and five other ratepayers interviewed the Board in reference to Sharp's creek. After a long conversation on the matter, the Board informed him that a 12-inoh pipe drain would be placed under Voss's road, on the understanding that Mr Ellmers gave a written consent to the Board for the water to flow without interruption along a certain ditoh mentioned on his land. They then withdrew. Authority was {given to place a concrete and wood culvert in Davie's drain under Dunford's road. The clerk was instructed to inform Mr S. Burrows that they could not grant hie application for pipes under his gateway. Tenders were opened for keeping in repair for twelve months the main roads of the district, but were declined as being excessive. Other routine business was transacted, and correspondence of minor importance considered, the pay-sheet passed, and the Board adjourned.
