I have sums from i>s9 npwarda to .£3OOO for iaveetment at current rates. The demand for properties has not been brisk, although. I have eucceeded in selling dnriag the week three cottages in Syden&&m, shop premises in Colombo street sorth, aad a property ssTen miles from town, realising together £5085. I have hsd repeated inquiries for rental of land dose to town, bnt this class of property is growing more scarce day by day. I have had-an offer of £50 per acre cash for an estate of 200 acras close to town; but asii is saaroaly up to the vendor's idea, nothin* has jet come of it. 1 have had repeated ioqniriee for properties close to the railway station, ani can piaes several at once if but reasonable prices &c asked.. _____
