Warden Eenrick returned last evening from Tβ Aroha. He says the opinion is that goldbearing stone will be discovered, but there is nothing as yet to justify a rush. The stone brought down will be tested. To-day nevr miners' righte will be issued, previous to the declaration of the opening of the field, the date of which will be notified. At a meeting of miners the following resolutions were carried :—l. " That the warden be requested to protect the men's ground for fourteen days, to allow the Native prospector to find the lode." 2. " That nothing save a payable reef found would warrant the warden in granting a prospecting claim." 3. "That the warden be requested to proolaim 'She district a goldfield, as the loose speoimrns found are sufficient to lead to the belief that there are reefs in the neighborhood." A terrific S E. gale has been prevailing for the last twenty-four hours, attended with a heavy downpour of rain. The rivers aro all flooded, and it is feared that much damagu will be done.- Messrs Shaw, Saville's and Co'ij j ship Loch Nagar, Captain George Perram, 590 tone, from London, loading wool here, has been driven on to the beach, aod is now high and dry. At 7 a.m., the ship was riding with 140 fathoms on the starboard anchor and 75 on the port anchor. She parted heir starboard chain and veered out all the cable on the port anchor, and while getting in the remnant of tbe starboard chain to shackle on to the port cable, the ship parted the latter. A tremendous sea was running the whole time. Tho fore-topmast staysail was hoisted, and tho ship was run on to the beach. Had the cable not parted the ship could have weathered out the gale, as there is excellent holding in the harbor. The ship is apparently uninjured. About seventy-six bales of wool sre on board and fifty-four tons of manganeee. It is not known whether the ship is insured. WELLINGTON, October 27. The tender of Mr J. The lessees suffer heavily, being uninsured. DUNEDIN, October 27. The Danedin shareholders of the Titanic Steel Company held a meeting yesterday, and unanimously adopted the following resolutions — " That the directors be requested to write to Wellington for the particulars re Grown Grant, and to report at a future meeting." " That Mr W. D. Stewart, M.H.R. be written to, and the thanks of the Dunedin shareholders conveyed to him for the able manner in which he has protected their interests when in Wellington." Mr Frederick Fitohett, of Danedin, was this day admitted and enrolled as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, by hie Honor Mr Justice Williams. At the icquiry held to-day on the humas remains found in the bush at O wake, near Oatlin'e River, they were identified ac those of Robert Grey, who was miaeed in May, 1876.
