The Secretary of State for the Colonies, Earl Kimberley, has sent an official despatch to the Lieutenant-Governor of Natal, instructing him to avoid allowing the extension of territory to be a plea for disputes between colonists and Native tribes, and to abstain from interference with the free tribes.
