EYRETON ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Monday. Present —Messrs Wilson (ohairman),' Hopkins, Paghby, and Fairweather. Leave of absence was granted Mr Bradley, through illness. Letters were read —From Registrar of Brands, stating no copy of the brand-book was in existence. From Registrar-General, endoaingform for statistics. From Treasury, mtuoating that £76 Is 7d, share from Ashley county fund, would he paid. From Mr H. Elder, agreeing to pay £15 on completion of extension of Eyre outlet. From Mr J. S. White, asking to have drain from Jackson's to Radden's road cleaned. Agreed to. From Mr Threlkeld, ——ing for a hank or drain across Thompson's road to be cleared away. Agreed to. From Mr D. Chapman, applying for half cost of embankment fronting his land. It 'was decided as this was the last work required to repair the damage done by the flood

From Mandeville and Rangiora Board, asking that erection of proposed bridge over —tain drain on Smith's road be deferred. Agreed to. Messrs Stanton and Wright attended, and presented a petition signed by nine ratepayers asking that steps be .token to cause the removal of a roadway said to have been formed by the Avon Road Board across Stewart's Gully. It was decided to write to the Avon Road Board, also to the Government on the subject, and asking that the cutting promised by the railway engineer to be made in Stewart's Gully be carried out without delay. Mr Marmaduke Dixon applied for repairs to Eyre embankment. It was decided that the former offer of the Board be still adhered to. Mr J. Waiting complained of water flowing down Raddon's road from Inglebrecht's creek. It was decided to appoint Mr T. Pickard ranger for the district. It was resolved to form Smith's road and improve drain on west side of Barker's road, 'fenders were considered for Eyre Bridge, clearing Martin's creek, and North road drain. Accounts, £459 lis 2d, were passed for payment.
