QUEENSLAND.
Mr Jack, the-Government geologist, has "been instructed to make a geological survey of the Hodkinson goldfield. A full Court upheld the conviction of of murder at Thursday Island, Torres Straits, holding that the Court had jurisdiction. Justice Luteryohet has a month's leave, oaring to failing health. Three snml wooden shops in Queen street lave been burnt. The New Zealand Insurance -Company has £400 on one.
