ASHBURTON.
MONDAY, APBUi 28. [Before John Olliver ard James Campbell, Esqs., J.P.'s] Larceny.—William Aubrey was oharged with the larceny of a pocket book, containing £7 and some shillings, belonging to Hugh Mclntyre. The prisoner, who pleaded guilty, was stated to have confessed the crime when first accused, having shown where he had hidden the pocket book in » closet at the rear of the Boyal Hotel. The Bench sentenced accused to two months' imprisonment with hard labor.
Ac.BBSOBY TO Lab.eny. — Physick, the man who had been charged with this offence on the occasion of Porter's loss of £132 in a railway carriage at Ashburton, was brought upon remand and dismissed, there being no evidence against him.
