HEATHCOTE.
The above Board held its usual meeting on Thursday the 2nd instant, at 2 p.m., in the Road Board office, Ferry road. Present— Messrs W. Attwood (chairman), R. Clephane, J. Sandford, T. G. Moule, and W. Hawker. The clerk reported the balance in Bank to be £130 13s sd. The works committee reported on various matters, and that the swing bridge wanted some repairs, which it was resolved to do. Mr W. Kennaway interviewed the Board, re the road from his place, and it was decided to accept his offer. Also Mr R. Fenton re the drainage by his place. He was advised to apply to the Drainage Board, as it was out of the power of the Board to help him. Letters were read and considered. From Hon. Geo. Buckley re grant to Lyttelton and Heathcote recreation land. The amount was ordered to be paid. From same re swing bridge. To be attended to. Mr J. Tipping re footpath in St. Martin's. The clerk to reply. The clerk was instructed to give notice in the papers that the swing bridge was unsafe. Accounts amounting to £210 19s 3d were ordered to be paid. The Board then adjourned.
