Monday, March 9. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] SLAUGHTER HOUSE ORDINANCE. A license was granted under this Ordinance to James Walls, Kaiapoi Island. PUBLIC HOUSE ORDINANCE. An extension of license was granted under this Ordinance to W. Harris, licensee of the Kaikainui hotel, for the occasiqn of a dinner on Tuesday night, CIVIL CASES. R. Hopkins v R. Ashworth, claim £5 Is 6d ;no appearance of defendant; judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs. Jansen v Rice, claim £6 16s 3d ; no appearance. J. Beharrel v J. Petersen, claim £6 6s 8d; judgment by consent, order made for defendant to pay debt by instalments of 10s per week, or in default six weeks' imprisonment. M. Lynskey v W. H. Barry, claim 13s 4d ; judgment ex parte for plaintiff for amount and costs.
