NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a SPECIAL MEEI'ING of the Council, held on Monday, the 7th day of April last, the following resolution was agreed to:—' Th 3 City Council of Christchurch resolve to borrow the" sum of six thousand pounds (£6000), such amount being required to meet the expenses of the works in connection with the drainage of the city, which will be undertaken during the present year; the said amount to be raised on debentures, value £50 each, bearing interest at 6 per cent, per annum, issued for a .term of fifty years, on the security of a special rate of one penny in the pound on the rateable property in the city ; which rate will provide the said interest and a sinking fund, as by The City of Christchurch Loan Act, 1871, required. The interest will be payable half-yearly, and the principal at the time specified on the debenture, at the Ofiice of the City Council, . Christchurch.
