ROAD BOARDS.

-** MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA. The usual meeting of this Board was held on December 1. there being present —Messrs Blackett (chairman), Wilson, Duncan, and Yonng. The minutes and the Surveyor's report were read. A circular from the steward of reserves was read, informing the Board that reserve No. 380 was let. A letter from the Chairman of the Cust district Road Board was received, asking the Board to assist in improving the boundary road. The Surveyor was directed to . get the Chairman of the Cust Board to meet him on the road, examine the same, arid report at next the result 6f the interview.

A circular from the Secretary of Public Works was read, asking for returns showing the amounts received from local sources by the Board, also the estimalod revenue for the year ending 15.7:..The Clerk was directed to compile and send in such a return, as soon as possible. The Surveyor was instructed to invite tenders for forming a road past Mr Wilkinson's from the Draiu road to Boy"s direct road ; also for forming foothpaths at Rangiora. He was >\lso directed to see to the repairs of Revell's road. It was proposed by Mr Blackett, seconded by Mr Duncan—"That the Southbrook road be formed from tbe part already shingled to Laxton's corner ;" the Surveyor to invite tenders for the work." Carried. Resolved that the Clerk write to the Secretary for Public Works, and inform him that the Board cannot allow the culverts on Boy's road to be removed till the other ones are put in by the sides of the road by the Government, as it would mterfere with the traffic. Resolved that Mr Evans be paid £4 for cleaning part of the Cust river bed. The Clerk was directed to write to Mr Revell relative to the purchase of some land by the side of the main drain for a road. After passing accounts, the Board then adjourned.
