CANADA.
The loyal settlers at Red River have raised a force of 600 men and two guns, to oppose the insurgents. Riel threatens to bombard the town if he is attacked. The attempt of Schultz to overthrow the insurgent government has failed, the settlers not supporting him. The majority of the Schultzor forces were re-captured, but be escaped.
