Preece'e Central Market and Sale Yards on j Saturday were well supplied with live stock, j fnrm and dairy produce, &c. There was no i diminution of former prices quoted, and the yards presented the usual large attendance of farmers and others interested at this seaeon of the year. Mr T. Preece reports the followingWheat, 3s per bushel ; barley, 3s 6d to 4s ; oats, Iβ 10d, 2s, 2s 3d do ; chicken wheat, 2s, 2e 3d, 2s 6d do ; peas, 3s ; potatoes, 50s, 60s, 70s per ton ; carrots, 60s do ; onions, Id, to 1 id per lb ; hay, 60s to 70s per ton ; flour, (good) £9 ; inferior do, £7 10s and £8 per ton ; sharps, £4 do ; bran, 63 do ; baoon and hams (good) 8d and 9d per lb ; inferior do, 4d to6d ; cheese (good) 6d per lb ; inferior, 3d to 5d do. Figs—Fat porkers, 35s to 45s each ; small do, 20a to 30s ; large stores, 20s to 25s ; small do, 12s to 16s ; suckers, 8s to 12s. Poultry—Fat turkeys, 5s to 6s 6d each ; hen do, 6a to 8s per pair ; geese, 5s 6d to 7s 6d per pair ; ducks, 3s to 4s per pair ; fowls, 2s to 4s per pair; rabbits, Is 6d to 2s per pair ; pigeons (common) Is 3d to Is 9d per pair. There is a fair demand for medium quality draught and light harness horses, but common hacks are not easily disposed of.
