RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Chbistohuboh—-April 28. [Before 0. 0. Bowen, Esq., R.M.] LARCENY. Thomas Arden was brought up in custody charged with the above offence. From tho evidence produced by the police it appeared that, on the 26th inst the prisoner waa caught in the aot of taking a pair of boots fr<?m the shop of Mr Simpson in High street. Upon the boots being restored Mr Si-_pson let ths prisoner go, and yesterday, the 27th instant, while standing in his shop, he again saw prisoner taking a pair of boots off a nail at the door. Mr Simpson thereupon arrested prisoner and gave him into custody. Prisoner made no statement in defence, and his Wbr« ship sentenced him to three months' imprison' ment with hard labour for each offence. DBUNK AND DISOBDEBIY. Thomas Birch, alias John Parte, was brought up oharged with the above offence, and also with using obscene language, Prln* oner was fined 10s. crra..
