Mr B. Tonka held & sate on Thursday of choice teas, ex Queen Bee, from London; also a consignment of groceries and oilmen's •tores. There was a very large attendance of the trade, and a slight advance upon some of the articles obtained. The sale w estimated at
about £1200. Ihe following is a list of the prices realised : —Teas—chests congou, Sophia, 2a 2£d ; caddies gunpowder, 2s 5Jd ; caddies orange pekoe, 23 BJd; chests English, 2s 6d ; congou, Sidon, half chests, Is 64d ; congou, half chests, Ernest and Maria, Is 10d ; do do Meteor, 2a ; do do Capsing Moon, 2a lid ; do do Mobile, 2s l£d. Groceries and oilmen's stores—Ginger, Iβ 3d ; white crystals, s£d; Crosse and Blackwell's half pint sauces, 12s ; Morton's do do, 8s ; Morton's salad oil, half pints, 9s 7d ; Morton's do castor oil, 7s 5d j lobsters, 6s 9d ; mustard, KeenanV and Colman'e, Bfd j vinegar. 10d 10d ; Wotherspoon's confections, ll£d; grey peas, ljd; sperm candles, boxes, Iβ ; ling fish, 2£d- —" Weekly Express," March 13.
