[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, Feb. 27, 4 3S p.m. The ship Ida Zeigler was wrecked at Napier this morning, and is breaking up. She had a large quantity of wool on board for London. Mr Pbarazyn, of the firm of Izard and Pharazyn, solicitors, of this town, is appointed Assistant Law Officer. The Wanganui news is unimportant. Colonel Whitmore is supposed to be in the bush. It is reported this day that the Rev. Mr Mallard has asked for leave of absence from his official duties during the period of the Visit of His Royal Highness, who was understood to have been his fellow shipmate on board H.M.S. Euryalus. The steamer Otago has been purchased by Spence Brothers, of Melbourne, for £12,500. 6.35 p.m. The Himalaya has just arrived, most unexpectedly to the Governor, Commodore, and the Government; it is stated, to carry away the troops. It is supposed that later orders have been received from home, either by the Suez mail or telegram. It is very thick foggy weather, and surprise is expressed that strangers would venture entering the,' Heads, especially while it was blowing fresh from the southward. ; ••'/-
