Sii»—From "The Southern Record," a pjpe? tow defunct, but once published in the city, I send you the following extract—the Mo ot the paper is 1865 :—- ---"The foundations of the Chnstchurch Cathedral ere now finished and have cost the iaai of £3,015195. It is expected that the Cathedral will be sufficiently completed for the purposes of divine service in three years, though the time when the whole building will be finished must of course be much later/ , The first sentence is well known to be correct. The second sentence is unfulfilled, end the whole building will be finished nasi of course be much later" than even the writer of that paragraph ever surmised. I am, &0.». . Chubchmait.
