Messrs Wilson and Alport report a moderate amount of business in cattle during the week. They sold several head of good dairy cows at full rates on Saturday, at Cashel Btreet yards. On Wednesday, at the Carlton, the sales were limited to a few young stock of superior quality at moderate prices. Fat cattle am enquired for ; very few offering, and readily saleable at former rates. 'Xhey havo no sales of sheep to report. The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Saturday amounted to £253 18s lid.
