POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails, per Gothenburg, for the Australian colonies, will close at Christchurch at 1 p.m., and Lyttelton at 4 p.m., on Friday, the 6th instant. Mails for Otago and Southland will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m., on Friday, the 6th instant. Mails, per Tararua, for the United Kingdom, the Continent of Europe, America (via Panama), and the Northern ports of New Zealand, will close at Christchurch at 10 a.m., and Lyttelton at 130 p.m. on Friday, the 6th instant. Late letters for places within and bejond the colony, by payment of an extra sixpenny ■tamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christchureh till 1 p.m., and Lyttelton tUi S.SO p.m. on Friday, the 6th instant. - ' Mails for Otago and Southland will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m., on Tuesday, the 10th instant. Mails, per Tararua, for the Australian ooloniee, will cloee at Chrietchurch at 8 a.m., and Lyttelton at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, the 10th inst. From this date the postage on newspapers for the United Kingdon (via Panama,) will be one penny each in place of threepence as heretofore. P. B. Wbioht, Chief Postmaster.
